December 2, 2010: Lauren can stand on her own now, but only if you let go of her. If she’s on her own, she’ll hold something or lean on something with her belly. She loves to push around her little cart. She goes back and forth in the playroom; when she gets to one end Dylan will turn her cart around for her and she heads back to the other side. She grins the whole time, she’s so proud of herself. She can even stand in one place and push the cart back and forth; her balance is quite good. Hesitantly, she’ll walk along holding just one hand. She stills gets “bouncy legs” when she’s excited, which can be dangerous when she’s only holding one hand.
Dylan & Peyton are very excited about Christmas and often tell me new things to put on their “list” – we spend time at Target in the toy aisles deciding what should be on their lists. It’s been very convenient to just say, “We’ll add it to your list” when they see a new toy they want - far fewer breakdowns than just saying no. Peyton still can’t decide on the ONE thing he wants from Santa. He told the mall Santa that he wanted a Monster Tractor Bull Rock n Roll-er. I mentioned that Santa’s elves might not know how to make that and his response was, “Oh. You just squish up some cactus …” I was laughing too hard to follow the rest. When he was done he said, “Well actually I don’t want that.” So we’re back to square one.
The week after next we’re headed to Anaheim to visit Mickey Mouse and Tinkerbell for a couple of days. We’re all excited, but I think I’m the only one that’s scared.
